Call your agent. You can inform them without officially filing a claim and find out what the impact of filing would be on your monthly payment. I don't see why you'd pay this out of pocket though if your deductible is $750.
Not a ton with covid but the repair will take 1-2 weeks which is kinda a long time without a car and I live alone too. I’m also worried when they start to work on my car, it’s going to end up being more than the $3000 estimate

I did the same thing a few years ago, for the love of god pay out of pocket my auto insurance rates skyrocketed ever since that incident and it still has not gone down.
That’s what I’m most concerned about but with accident forgiveness I would assume that wouldn’t happen but insurance companies are so sneaky sometimes you never know

Couple of things:
1) Geico will arrange for the rental and you will never see a bill or worry about any under 25 surcharge.
2) With accident forgiveness with Geico means your rates won't go up. However, if you have another claim in the next 3 years, the rate will go through the roof.
3) All you should be responsible for is the $750 deductible.
That’s Geico - not others.
I had an accident where I wasn’t at fault, but the other driver was uninsured. The payout was on my policy.
It took five years for me to get a policy that was reasonable.
I’d pay it and save the accident forgiveness for something big. Plus if you go back to the shop and say you’re paying out of pocket, they may reduce the rate.
So that's why OP should save it
3k is a lot of cash so just go through Geico. I had the same situation a couple months ago except that someone almost ripped off the right side of my car while it was parked. My deductible was 1k and it was no fault so everything worked out because my premiums won’t go up either.

Where is the damage? If it’s a fender, door, or bumper, you can probably just find another one on rockauto.com for a couple hundred dollars. You may have to pay to get it painted, but if you don’t care about the perfect paint job just paint it yourself.
You can probably run a quote on Geicos website with an accident included to get a sense of what your premium bump would be
