Do you have a parent/sibling you could just use their name and signature (like you’re back in grade school foraging that note home)

It’s on a video call, so you need to have someone physically present.

I didn't get the email until I got back home.

I did the first part of the authorization and missed the part where they said a physically present person. I am staying at a Marriott and was asking the staff here to do it.

This is because of the pandemic, this step in the onboarding process is usually done in person so now they need to set up a way to get that document legally filled out so you can start working. It can’t be anybody with the same last name and address, thats the only constraint I’m aware of

Notary public, maybe even a local attorney's office if desperate.

They are all scared of the i9. As soon as I say that, they are jumping to say no regardless of how much pre-explanation I do.

Got it!! This is done. Thanks for the help! Appreciate it!!!!

Left a job in government (prosecution), currently at a mid-size firm. I’m really starting to not only hate law firm life, but the practice of law generally. Is this part of the transition? I left my last job because I was on-call 24/7. Now I’m 24/7 again but due to billable requirements. I have no hobbies, no free time, and only spend about an hour/day with my kids. Not sure I want this life. At least I had insane PTO for govt work.
