Question for McKinsey UK. Are there any schemes or benefits that could help pay off student loans? I'm keen to pay it off ASAP. Maybe have the pension contributions rerouted to SLC until it's paid?

I've seen the glassdoor average but feel this is likely skewed by external hires with higher offers.
Appreciate the help

Hi ladies! I’m thinking of getting a breast lift, however, the doctor mentioned that scaring in black women is more prominent than in white women. Any ladies who have gone through a similar procedure end up with noticeable scars?

A recruiter reached out for a position I’m super interested in and I responded saying I want to learn more and never heard back. How long should I wait before I follow up?

Looking for tips/suggestions in leaving public after 6 years. Also wanting to change industries at the same time. The latter appears to be the hard part with so much time in my specific industry.

Looking for a job $200k plus out of pwc. I’m a manager with over 6 years of experience in internal audit/sox compliance. Not sure I’ll stick to IA. Any ideas of companies and/or types of jobs?

I’m looking to leave technology risk (IT audit), and get into an industry M&A accountant role. Any advice on how to spin my current experience on my resume for this type of role?
I’ve run budget on my teams but that’s about as close as I can get to any ‘relevant experience’.

Could anyone tell me the pay range for Citi bank internal audit for AVP level in UK? @citibank Citi

Anyone work in financial accounting advisory? Or internal control advisory? How are the hours and pay over there?

Hi everyone, I’m currently a tax associate and just graduated back in May. I’m starting to feel really burnt out and dislike what I do and want to get out of accounting completely. I can’t deal with the hours and the strictness of billing time. My degree is in business admin (I concentrated in accounting) and want to try something else. I’m currently looking into marketing, diff. analyst positions, and some other stuff. Any suggestions/advice would be helpful! Thank you.

How hard is it for a Staff II in audit to transition to Tech Risk Management at EY or the other big 4 for that matter? Or would it be easier to move to a mid sized firm for a position like that.

Anyone work remote full time? What do you do? How do you like it? Did you have to take a pay cut / less than you would get otherwise?

Was so close to switching from IT Audit to software engineering and then a global crisis occurs. Tough to keep my head up.

Do you always submit a cover letter?

If I’m not given the hiring managers contact info, I shouldn’t worry about a thank you note, right?

If you are working industry, 40 hours a week with a competitive pay and left B4 tax - can you share your new job title? Not sure what is out there that I could apply for.

The b4 life is not for me and is actually affecting my family (mom of 2 kiddos). I’m looking into something with true flexibility and less than 50 hours a week. Any advice?

On job descriptions are the years of experienced required section usually accurate or recruiters trying to get overqualified candidates? Let’s say I want to apply for a position that requires 4 but I have 3.

Any former Big 4 auditors which switched to controlling/FP&A/internal audit care to share their experience on the new job? Is it more interesting?
You feel like you actually help the business?
and promotion is harder to get as many say?

What happens if you recurved Becker CPA material from Deloitte after your internship, but decide to not accept the offer and go work somewhere else?

I think I’m ready to finally take the plunge and start looking for positions outside public. I’m not sure as a first year senior what I would qualify for or common roles tax seniors exit to. I would definitely be open to no longer working in tax.

Do you guys think that when you make the switch to industry you should try to land a job at a public company? I want to make $300-$400k eventually as a CFO one day and I think that going into a public company will get me there instead of switch to a private. What do you think?

How do search for non-audit roles that are within reach for someone with core audit experience? Everyone seems to go straight to another firm’s M&A as if that’s the only option.
