Do Deloitte, PWC, and EY offer time off for the CPA test? If possible, screenshots of those policies would be appreciated. Trying to get it approved at our firm.EY PwC Deloitte

PwC allows up to 40 hours of CPA specific study time ( or at least that is what my teams have said in the past). We have allowed team members off to study as well as take tests

like

I believe this time is only available to associates so if you are a senior and haven’t passed a certification exam, this option is not available.

That's ridiculous that you would even need proof. Why wouldn't they give you a day off to test?

We get 2 months PTO in Canada. US doesn’t offer this?

How does a policy from another firm help you?

At Deloitte you just charge it to other reportable time. just charge anything... learning time or something

When I took my CPA exams, I charged time off to the self study WBS code. I don’t know if there was official guidance to do this but that’s what everyone in my team did.

I don't know if there's an official policy, but I worked with the manager on my engagement and scheduler to get regular time each week over the summer. Use a generic learning code for the time.

Guys, need one quick suggestion -

28th Jan(after 2 days) is my joining date in one of the organisation.. meanwhile I get a call from one of captive company for final managerial discussion scheduled for today itself.
I doubt they can release offer in just 2 days if all good, having said that tomorrow is holiday.
Ques- should I tell after 2 days I have to join one of organization. Or can I tell, still I am with current organisation and serving np, probably 60 days left and wait for their offer..

Question for BAH - are you able to expense taxi/uber for after hour safety from your holiday event to home? I know most companies let you and so does Deloitte. Asking for a Booz friend.

We are seeing more pushback from employees on working 40 hours. We offer flexibility (wfh), 11 holidays and another 3 wks PTO. Seems like a good gig, I think, at 40-45 hrs. Anyone seeing this too?

I just started a new job 2 months ago, benefits and PTO don’t start until 90 days in so I still have a month before I can take off any time, and today found out my company doesn’t offer paid maternity leave.
I’m really struggling handling the symptoms and maintaining my full time job. Thinking about looking for a part time job to have more time to myself through the pregnancy since I won’t be getting a paid leave anyways, but lost on where to start looking. Any recommendations?

Is this a good deal or not. $93,600/year” “BENEFITS “ medical, dental, vision(30%60%90% after CYD) 80hrs vacation time after 1year of employment, it cannot be carried over year to year, nor will it be paid for it upon termination same for sick time which will be granted after 90 days of employment. Max 240 hours. Paid for the 6 holidays but if happen to work holidays will get paid 8 hrs for another day off during the same pay period. No 401k

Any tips on how to deal with this…my entire team was let go today (was 5, now just me). We functioned as the Marketing team for 4 brands and primarily focused on product launches and sustaining social media content. My plan moving forward is to only focus on the top revenue driving product launches for now and say “no” to basically everything else. Would love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation and can offer some advice.
