It makes business sense, because you need to raise morale even more when the office is being decimated. But good taste and good business sense rarely walk hand in hand
Even ppl in their 20s are over open bar. It’s a silly way to build morale. Give us the cash to help us pay our bills. Bc we haven’t had a raise in over 2 years. Or send us to a conference. With all respect, I don’t need or appreciate the free booze
Our MD cancelled our holiday party based on our (only) client having cutbacks. No layoffs in NY. But I wish they would pass the savings on to us instead of just pocketing it.
Between Marcel and extravagant holiday parties, they are good at blowing through cash there. PS it’s spelled “group”. No “e”.
It’s definitely groupe. https://www.publicisgroupe.com/en
What layoffs???
how else would they do tax cuts? 🤐
Deutsch 1 I couldn’t agree more. I think this is more about wanting an excuse to get out of a party that they’d rather not go to in the first place than some sort of moral outrage at a holiday party. If you don’t want to go then don’t go. But stop whining.
Yes
I always got. I worked on shops that everyone got bonuses and other that would reward performance, wich I think is stupid, but its a subject for another topic.
It’s okay, freelancers aren’t allowed to go to the breakfast. I guess they save money that way? All of my long ass hours and days don’t seem to matter
Yes lower your pre self employed tax, pre healthcare, pre dental, no retirement plan, no commuter write off, no child care flex spending, no healthcare flex spending, no pharmaceutical plan, no such thing as a paid holiday or sick day off rate, “whiner"
Morale just built .
HA trust me I don’t get paid any more than any full timers. You’re full of it. The only reason I’m freelance is because they save money, and I need a job
Happy Hanukkah!!!
Our holiday parties, which used to be all-out affairs, have been cancelled two years running which makes perfect sense given the layoffs and clients leaving. But now it feels like we don’t really work here, we are just waiting to see if we’ll survive. Not great for morale. I think something small should be in order if it’s a long term situation.
You know what else builds morale? A healthy bonus
