First of all try and relax going into the inspection walk, because the Health Inspection is hawk's eye view into safe food handling, proper storage and cooking temperatures, proper sanitation, employee hygiene, and pest control to protect public health.

Definitely listen to learn and do not take anything personal

Ask plenty of questions and take notes.
Answer all questions honestly

Fix whatever you can fix during the inspection walk

If you have work orders for appliances that are not operating properly, be sure to show the work orders

Be sure to coach any employees that are operating outside of standards.

In 25+ years of managing restaraunts, I have never failed a Health Inspection that was performed during my shift

I definitely agree with all of this, but the biggest thing is not taking anything personal. So many people get their emotions involved and that makes them anxious and defensive. An inspection is not a reflection of you as a person or as a manager, it's literally just to make sure that the conditions are safe for customers and employees. Nothing more, nothing less.

For those who were diagnosed as an adult can you provide some insight into how you were able to obtain a diagnosis. I went to my primary care dr who referred me to another dr who specialized in mental health. He asked me about 5 questions before telling me I should see a neuropsychologist for an official assessment. The referral he gave me is super pricey and apparently isn’t covered by insurance. Is that normal?
