As a fellow first year, anyone else concerned about possible lay offs?

likehelpful

Somewhat, but be proactive and reach out for work or small tasks to say relevant. Biglaw (Chicago) and have been concerned about the lack of new projects coming in over the last two months. Still hit 165 billable hours but comparatively to 200-220 for the last two years, it’s worrisome.

Big monitor keyboard mouse computer. Also if you don’t want carpal tunnel wrist rests for keyboard and mouse.

Desktop, two screens, some type of softphone, notepad. Other than that, you should be good. I set up my "office" on my dining room table for the foreseeable future, until this calms down.

Aren’t you given a firm laptop?

like

OP: if you didn’t already buy check Costco for sales, you can order online. Or Best Buy.
My alternative is my iPad Pro. 13” screen with a keyboard; works in a pinch but idk for long term. Good luck!!

Do you need a desktop? Why not just hook up a monitor to your laptop + mouse and full keyboard?

You can buy an Apple TV and mirror to whatever monitors you connect the Apple TV to.

Surprised it’s not mandatory

Hey FishBowl Friends, so I’m currently trying to break into tech sales/FinTech and I feel that due to my previous work history, I might not look like the ideal candidate on paper but I’m an extremely fast learner and very coachable. I’ve been a manger at a gym, got my degree in finance, worked as a client advisor at a top 3 auto dealer in the nation and now I’m a project manager at a solar company. I really want something that’s remote and steady, any recommendations on how to spruce myself up?
