freelancers, what has your experience been like breaking into getting gigs the top agencies (wk, rethink, droga, mother). I have a good book and worked at solid agencies, great references but have a hard time getting an email back when I reach out. Is it just about who you know?

Has anyone heard or experienced going on maternity leave, then leaving shortly after returning? I'm hearing from my husband's company if he takes pat leave, and leaves shortly after returning, he'd have to repay the wages paid while out on leave. Is this only for pat leave and the person who gives birth wouldn't have to pay back as it's technically disability pay? Trying to weigh my options as I want to get out of my company, but want the mat leave first.

Came here to say that I wish I could fully express to my non-parent colleagues how much their support has meant to me. How normal is it to be pulled off a trial team because you tell your boss you are moving after trial? I have a trial coming up first week of Oct. This case has been my baby, and I’m going to try it with my boss. I tell my boss up front that, for family reasons, I’ve gotten a new job and will be moving to another city two weeks after trial will likely end. He then gives my trial witnesses to another attorney, but is still going to make me do grunt work. Is he unreasonable or am I?

I’m getting really discouraged by the process of finding a daycare. Currently 32w pregnant and it’s crazy to me that literally no daycare I’ve spoken to can speak to availabilities in the Spring. It’s nothing but waitlists. Should I have started looking sooner? Starting to get worried that my maternity leave will and and we will still have zero plan on how to get childcare.
