I’m 52M and looking at divorce with a kid heading to college and one still high school. I agreed to pay for both kids’ college and live a like a pauper for the next 7 years. Any advice?

I teach 4th and 5th grade.
I am not out to my students and families.
I am a very loved and "popular" teacher at school for my ability to build relationships and engage.

I am worried that coming out or rather being outed may affect my ability to build relationships because parents who have issues will inevitably relay certain messages to their children.


Coming out in an elementary setting is different from a middle or high school setting I feel. Anyone else?

I’m alone and living in a city where I don’t know anyone, so I’m alone all the time and don’t talk to anyone face to face... I facetime friends and family (9 hr time diff), but I think the isolation and lack of live human contact and interaction is really getting to me. I think I’ve been coping with overeating and constant screen time. I feel so out of control.

Pregnant with my 1st, and a very career oriented gal, but will have no family nearby ever. With Biden's new tax policies my salary is what puts us over the $400k line, as Hubby's is the better job with better benefits and stuff. Wondering if I should just stay home for a bit, enjoy my baby and my tax incentives for the next few years. I will someday soon try for a 2nd baby as well.

Story: I had this group of girlfriends. Over the past year, two of them got in a major fight and I remained friends with both. The group all sided with one girl because they knew her longer, and I kept being friends with both because I genuinely cared for both. Are there any well-off suburbs around Chicago where there's a significant amount of black or mixed race people? Significant meaning 40-50%+. I've seen a lot of nice black suburbs in southern and eastern cities but less in the midwest. Has anyone had a Manager that does not work well with your ADHD? Im going through this right now and the way they communicate doesn’t match what I need. If I ask questions, they huff and puff. My observation is that it is hard for consulting partners to land the quality public or private board roles everyone naturally targets. Despite there being a significant amount of exceptional talent that could be deployed, there is a big bias against consultants. Everyone wants “operators,” but I feel every board could also benefit from one current or former consulting partner. But sadly, that’s not the way the external world looks at things...
