Has anyone bought/ done the HRCI Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion in HR Management? I already have my PHR, but I’m looking to gain more knowledge/skills and beef up my resume. Is it worth doing? The course is $239 and you get 12 Recert credits with it.

Less of a question, more of a request... stop asking your junior BIPOC strats to work on BLM briefs because they are the only voice of color on your team. In a time where we need support grappling with our very REAL realities and how it impacts how we show up in the agency, the LAST thing we need is an “opportunity” to express our “unique POV” on a diversity brief (that we won’t even get to speak to none the less). Imagine having to chanbel your trauma into a deck to sell in an idea to clients?

I have often wondered if being honest when I fill out EEOC / diversity forms if that limits me from new work / promotions. I used to be able to hide my disability, but it is progressive so now it's not as easy to hide. Thoughts?

Stub here with 3 months in. I work in litigation for a AM100 regional office. No issues with hours yet (45% over target) but just learned a 2nd and 3rd year missed their hours goal this year. Should I seek out projects from the transactional team during slow periods to ensure I hit billable, or is that frowned on?

I applied for a lateral job in a growing group that doesn’t have associates yet. How many matters is typical for one associate to handle (BL lit)? I know it is group-specific, but just trying to get a general idea. Anyone have slow months where you burn through a lot of your allotted pro bono/professional development hours to keep hitting minimum daily hours? The past few weeks have been like this for me. Hypo: client says they agreed to use a prior agreement another firm drafted as precedent for a new deal prior to engaging you. It’s maybe the most poorly written contact you’ve ever seen. Most material terms are arguably there, but it’s convoluted and you’d be embarrassed to put your name on it. There’s clearly a better way to draft it. To what extent do you re-write certain sections?

I hate Kirkland for what they did to me. Got laid off due to intra-firm-politics at a point in my career where I don’t have enough experience to lateral, when the market is so bad for corp/M&A that even with experience getting hired isn’t likely with a Kirkland stain on the resume, during the holidays when getting interviews or even screeners is just as unlikely, and all of this without any warning at all. Recruiters can’t or aren’t helping. I don’t know what to do, but this is a nightmare

After many years of doing purely corporate law, I recently moved inhouse to do structured finance. Honestly, I am in unknown territories. My boss also not patient about my re-learning process yet they knew from the interview that I know close to nothing about structured finance. I am 2 months into my 6 months probation period and I am worried that I might have bit more than I can chew. FYI - I am doing all I need to do to learn (books) but still struggling. Any pointers on how to get it faster.
