“Reflecting on and adopting the use of micro-affirmations would be a positive strategy to prevent microaggressions. Micro-affirmations are small acts that foster inclusion, listening, comfort and support for people who may feel isolated or invisible in their environment. Focus on action, not avoidance – create new good behaviours.”

I think we need to be mindful of not necessarily the act of creating hierarchies of oppression, a practice I think is human to engage in given the realities of our day-to-day experiences, but more importantly imposing our hierarchy on others.
While I agree it can be a slippery slope of ‘What about me and my struggle as an owner of two elderly chihuahuas?’ vs the impact of systemic-isms in the world (of which people with disabilities is one), as a queer, woman of color, I empathize with intersectionality.
I’m also mindful of the Niemoller quote...
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
Just my thoughts...
