Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I applied to B schools and while I got into a school I'm very happy with, another school that was my #1 rejected me outright when I felt I had a great shot. Furthermore, that school was close to both my and my wife's families. So despite the school im attending being better for my career, I can't help but feel that I've let my wife and both of our families down.

Assume I’m not successful and I were to go for a one-year MBA starting in the fall, will I get an interview even if I don’t do the GMAT? I heard MBBs like the GMAT for MBA candidates, but if I can get the interview without the MBA, will the gmat make a difference while I’m in the MBA?

Is sending kids to private school worth it? Talking about 25k-30k per year. Living inside city where public school are average. Thinking of sending kid to international school with bilingual program (family speaks multiple languages)…. The money adds up a lot over a lifetime. Especially if we have more than 1 kid.

Back in March I covered for an FA while they tried to hire him someone. It went on till May when the advisor said to me he liked my work and wanted me to be his CSA and he would pay me. I agreed we told mgmt and he started paying me as of June. Yesterday the advisor told me that the firm hired him someone 10 days ago. I was stunned because I thought I was his CSA per our agreement in May. His supplemental pays me about 10k a year total. Is it fair to expect my co. to pay the comp they took away?

Hi all, I have a question regarding retirement accounts. I am not sure if I should choose a Roth or 401k (company has 4+2% match). Currently 23, base salary is ~100k and investments have brought 45k this year which has me teetering between a 22-24% tax bracket. Wondering what the usual tax bracket is of people retired (around 65yo) as I’m not sure anything would bring in significant income with the exception of investments.
