Have any of you ever have an office schedule with early release on Fridays? How did you condense those hours?

I worked somewhere we did 4 x 9 Mon-Thurs and 4 hours on Friday during the summer.

It's becoming more common for companies to offer 4 day work weeks as well!

We shut down at 2pm on Fridays year round. We don’t have to make up that time. The expectation is simply that we get our work done.

like

For hourly workers might be different

Husband previous employer has friday half days for the summer- hours were not made up in anyway. My husband’s current employer is closed on fridays for summer- but they shift to 4 -10 hour days so no loss of time from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Our office closes at 2 on summer Fridays. A huge percentage of our employees (we are in social work) WFH on Fridays anyway, so it doesn't affect a lot of folks.

Hourly paid employees affected by the early close can make up the time on the other weekdays. Since they are hourly and we don't have set shifts, they can also choose not to make up the time. Salaried employees are technically supposed to make up the time, but none of us really do.

We’ve done early release for holidays and such and that just goes on payroll as 4 “award” hours if we do a noon release. If it’s a regular early release for a set period of time like summer hours you’ll need to write a policy. For salaried employees as long as they get their work done no need to “make up” those hours. For hourly employees that’s a different story and you’d probably need to work our individual schedule arrangements with each of them or just concede that you’ll need to provide some sort of award hour supplement during that time you do an early release to ensure the policy is fair.

9hr days Mon - Thurs. finish at 12pm on Friday. Loved summer Friday’s at my last job!

Currently on a 9/80 schedule now - I work 4 9 hour days and take off every other Friday. I worked for a company that offered summer Friday’s- by 1pm everyone had to log off.

We currently have flex hours. You can work a 8-10 day Monday-Thursday. As long as you work 36 hours during that timeframe, you can work a half day on Friday.

For my children? Like from school? Not sure I understand the question

No but I wish we did though. That would be amazing.

My former company had employees work Mon-Thurs 8a-5p and Fri from 8a-12p. They gave employees 30 minutes of clocked in exercise time Mon-Thurs which was nice.

I had a recent offer for a state government position in a talent acquisition role but I’d be taking a $25K pay cut. My question is those currently in an HR role, would this move make sense to you?

I've been working at this company for about 3.5 weeks now. Its been great so far.

We have an org chart in our dashboard ATS/HRIS and so I clicked on my first day buddies name just for fun.

I was able to see her entire employee file..even her address. I was really freaked out and I went to another profile and the same thing happened, I was able to see this person's emergency contact. Is this fucking normal? Should I say something and will I get in trouble for looking at a colleagues file?
