Are you currently employed at a hotel? Because I think the obvious answer would be to inquire about leadership or management roles at your current company. If you don’t have managerial experience, it’s going to be difficult for you to be hired in at a different organization in a leadership role.
Really? That’s frustrating. Of a leadership opportunity opened up at a different location, would they allow you to transfer?
The bigger the hotel chain, the worst treatment you get. Especially on entry jobs. Find boutiques hotels, or independent and exclusive ones that really ''Put people first" Marriott is far from that saying. I'm telling you after working with them for almost 3 years in 3 different properties.
Have you considered reaching out to a recruiter on LinkedIn? That can be a good way to find roles that you may not have found otherwise. Recruiters can be great.
Up to you if you want to take it from me, but I cannot stress enough that if you are moving up in management, especially in the front office, you are gonna be selling your soul to the hotel. Coming from a Marriott convention property overseeing over 1k rooms. I have seen many of my best managers leave due to upper management and the workload, but mainly the guests. You will literally have to be a people pleaser as a manager for the front desk. I don't even recommend front office management unless you really love guest interaction and solving guest issues, complaints, entitlement, etc. Look for something that gives you a work-life balance like sales, events, accounting, any job that gives you a structure and consistency.
