Hello! Looking for some guidance. I will soon be leaving Verizon after 15 years with them (6 years HR experience, 3 years Operations, 6 years leadership). The last HR position I held will be eliminated and I was offered a severance. I am now in the market for a new place of employment I can call home. I was thinking of trying for a start up. But the likes of Google, Adobe, etc. also seem appealing. Would you recommend a start up as my next endeavor? I enjoy helping build processes and policies.

Have an interview with a company I really want to work for tomorrow. My last job I was laid off b/c of an acquisition&recently accepted a job at a diff company b/c I couldnt afford not to. I got this invite shortly after. The place I’m interviewing at the job wouldn’t start til next year. I dont want to seem like a job hopper. Do i tell them I’m at a new role or just not bring it up? The acquisition was public so they can see Im no longer employed with the most recent work history on my resume

How is it that every company complains they can’t find workers yet 9/10 posts on linked in the last few weeks are all about layoffs? And just taking a look at the jobs in your are…why does every job suck and want to pay you 45k?

I was informed today that my employment would be terminated at a tier-2 consulting firm in Toronto. The reasons for my dismissal are unclear and I would like to get legal advice on the termination agreement and severance package that was offered. I’ve been proposed an exit as Product Owner at a real company, not a consulting one. Staff seems nice, good culture, good salary (less than consulting but well), BUT I would have to move countries for that job and start a new life.
