Its too bad you don't live in Georgia OP because those jobs are very easy to find here. They are generally very short staffed here but that is partially because the pay here is really low. Not sure what you are making but those roles do not pay well here which is sad.

Well in central Texas there are plenty of openings working with children in need of mental health services.
I feel like where you live matters, not all areas have robust mental health for kids. Some places I've lived your PCP handled it for the most part, unless there was definitely danger to self or others. Depression, anxiety, self harm was all handled (most of the time poorly) by pcps and referrals weren't often made...likely due to being rural and the cost of specialized care.
It may be an issue of qualifications. There are a lot of jobs out there for working with youth with psychiatric needs however they require master's degrees and licensure.
I live in AZ and also struggling to find the same job position.
