Hey team - I am looking at applying for an Enterprise Sales Manager role, where I would manage a team of AE's. I have been on with the current company for 8+ years, have worked as an AE and in a CAM role so a lot of the "learning" that you do at a new company is not applicable. What would you recommend me think about in my 30/60/90?

Focus on the people on the team. Their success is your success. How do you get up to speed with them and remove barriers to success in the first 90 days? Id focus on that

Enterprise or mid market is not a good department. It’s a revolving door. The managers are inexperienced so you might do well

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Additional Posts in Jobs in Sales

I left my job about a year ago to relocate, make sure it was the right decision and start a side business in the mean time. Now I’m actively looking for a new sales position, have tons of experience, but am struggling to even get a response from job apps. I am wondering if this is because of my employment gap? I don’t have my side business listed on my resume because I don’t feel like I have enough positive “stats” to report yet given it’s new. Any advice or recommendations?

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Then sit here and can’t figure out why…
