Hey Fishes,
Require urgent suggestions
I will be joining Oracle Financial Services Software(OFSS) and I am worried about job security considering the layoffs that will be happening in Oracle as per below link:
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.crn.com/news/cloud/oracle-considered-1b-in-cuts-thousands-of-layoffs-report&ved=2ahUKEwjv0Lyb3-34AhX29zgGHZGqBBYQ0PADKAB6BAgEEAE&usg=AOvVaw0c9Bz3n-mb4BhVdPKvIXnE
Require suggestions on whether it would be a wise call to move to OFSS now.

I am a graduating student who just got offered 65k for a solution analyst role at Deloitte USDC (Data Engineering Focus). From reading previous posts it seems to be a lot of negative thoughts surrounding the USDC, but straight out of college is this a good opportunity?
I'm looking to gain as much experience as possible out of college in an IT role and wondering what exit opportunities may be in place a year or two down the road if there is little/slow progression.
Any Advice?

I want to build my career in analytics. I have offer from EY India, EXL and LatentView Analytics.
EY is more on the side of project management and process improvement in SaaS, as told. While there is hands-on in other two.
If I don't consider pay, which company is the best to go for considering work and culture(peope friendly).

Hi everyone. A PDM specialist here. Joined Deloitte 5+ years back as ‘Senior Solution Engineer -On-site’.Later in June 2017 all these ‘on-site’ folks got rebranded as PDM. Slowly started to realize how PDM is getting sidelined as a ‘discountable’ group. Sometimes I feel contract jobs are better than being at PDM , but obviously tied up with D for visa related issues. No career progression so far and don’t see any positive changes in the near future as well.I think it’s high time to call it a day.
Is PDM ever going to be less crappy?

PDM is not a good track for career. Try if you can make it to core track . PDM is a trap. You get hired for a particular project (that will be mentioned in the offer) and employment is tied to that project.Technically there’s no bench time and once the project is over ,there’s 100% risk in the employment.Benefit wise also firm thinks PDM is sub-standard.All these make it not a good option.
You can go ahead and take the risk. I joined Deloitte as PDM for a 2 year project the client ended up not signing. Then went into another project with the worst team in the entire firm. No bench time. But thankfully found something amazing at the right time with a backup even better opportunity. So much stress with the PDM insanity. They will continuously remind you that you are PDM and the RM did no effort to help Re-staff me after my months long project. I am stronggg performer.
General note - switching from PDM to core track is smart but very much a pain/restrictive on business needs and your tenure. Also, the firm will keep you at PDM salary until the next full review cycle if you do successfully switch.
If you don’t have any other options, take it.
However, if you can… I would seriously consider using this offer to leverage a raise at your current job.
I received an offer in PDM about six months ago… I did not like how the recruiter and a few others were not straight with me about the cost of health insurance, and health insurance offered in PDM vs Core.
The bowl here, and Reddit were very helpful… whereas the recruiter and Deloitte help desk were not. Even though I had an offer letter, no one was able to show me what my actual health insurance options and costs would actually be. They said it was proprietary information and would not share until I signed on. It wasn’t until a PDM employee posted a screenshot in the bowl where I could see the difference.
I wound up getting current employer to match the offer and it became a no brainer to stay at Booz.
Whereas, if the offer had of been in the Core track, I likely would have taken it…
Thanks!
