Couch to 5k. Download the app by Zenilabs. Follow its program and you’ll get to 5k at a sustainable pace. It may be challenging but it got me from not being able to run for two minutes to running a 22 minute 5k within a few months.
Run or jog it! Don’t need record times but start working on your stamina!
That’s definitely enough time. Start jogging at a slow pace and focus on distance not speed. I was able to start from out of shape at 12 minute miles and could do a decent distance, then improved speed over time.
PS. Read about correct form to ensure you’re starting off right rather than developing bad habits. You shouldn’t be lifting your feet up very high - focus your energy on moving forward, not up/down or side-to-side. Amazing how many people I see doing this super wrong.
I recommend the Hal Higdon running plans.

Plenty of time to prep for your first 5k. Only 3.1 miles.
Yes! I’m doing this right now. I recommend the Boogie Shoes 9-week couch to 5k podcast series: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/boogie-shoes-couch-to-5k/id1063080750
Start walk/run alternating. Warmup a few minutes walking and then do a run for as long as you can. For me, I legit did 30 seconds on/off when I started and worked my way up. Remember that even if you end up walking some of the 5k, it’s still a great achievement!
Don’t do couch to 5K. It’s a waste of time honestly. There’s no reason to take regimented breaks, especially if what you need to learn is finding a comfortable pace that’s sustainable for 30 minutes. If you want to be a long term runner, you need to learn the difference between an “easy” or “recovery” run and a “speed” or “tempo” run. Couch to 5K doesn’t teach you that. If your goal is to run 5K in 8 weeks, fine, maybe couch to 5K will get you there. If your goal is to become a long term runner, try the Nike run club app

Totally disagree. Couch to 5k is a great way to get into running. Not only does it ease you into running if you’re someone who has never run or is out of shape and hasn’t run in a long time, it helps build the habit of running without feeling like you are just exhausting yourself by failing to run for minutes at a time. Couch to 5k isn’t for experienced runners but for people who don’t run and want to get into running and get into shape at a sustainable pace.
I’d say starting with C25K and then progressing into something like the Nike Run Club app is a much better way to get into running than just starting with the Nike app.
I did couch to 5k during law school and it got me there! Sometimes when I'm in running lulls, I'll still do part of the program to get back into the rhythm of going on runs. It is an easy program to start out with and the first 3 weeks are a lot of walking, so it isn't intimidating at all.
