How do you all deal with the guilt of leaving a comany/ team? I have been working at Microsoft for 1 year now, and seriously considering moving. I find the code base to be very legacy and I mostly work on obscure bugs that I spend so much time on, mostly due to navigating this large code base and not having much docs to refer to. Hence I find the job slightly unsatisfying, and that I could learn more elsewhere. However, I love the wlb, the team and company culture. The guilt stops my applying.

Folks with hard-earned inheritances seem to be doing alright for themselves with the early retirement thing.
As luck would have it, Festivus for the rest of us (always has been). 🍻
Lifestyle creep is a real robber of wealth. But I also don't think I would be happy if I retired early. Probably end up dead or broke after 5 years of it 😄
I’m 47 net worth of apprx 1.5m of which includes no debt, mostly liquid assets and low living costs. Without considering health care costs, I could get by spending 20-30k year right now. My day job is getting in the way of me watching the market. I consider retirement every day but I would need to remain frugal. Early retirement should be a decision to live a little bit which I have no plans as of now to do so I keep working.
Thank you!
I plan to retire at 50. But I’m frugal AF
I married younger (24) and stretched to buy a bigger house younger (25). I honestly think long term the aggressive early plays will be heavily beneficial.
You’re a derivates trader?
Where a prop fund?
Stick it out and don’t get fired for 5-7 years and you can retire
Had a couple buddies recruited out of college and worth north of $10M before 30
If you started saving early and you're always investing. You can actually retire very early
I have recently made an investment of $200k,and I will keep adding more money to the said investment, It will set me up to retire in my late 40's..Saving and Investments are the only avenues that will set you up for early retirement
I took 2 years off after retiring from the military. Stay engaged , active, and in the gym. When I started working at SAIC I put 10%. 401K/10%SAIC stock. In just 6 months that stacked up nicely FYI. Budget and save.
Check out the fire bowl, lots of folks there are breaking 1m nw in their early 30s and retiring in their 40s.
