Easy with Finance to scope a position down. It’s convincing of the scope up that is difficult…
Easy and it happens all the time. If the client scope changes, or other shifts are happening in the department, or if the team is getting too top-heavy and needs an adjustment.
I think you spend too much time thinking up hypothetical scenarios and less time doing what you should be. Okay, maybe that second part isn’t true, I don’t know for sure.
Get your book out there to as many agencies as possible, ask to buy beers with creatives you admire, or ask to Zoom if you’re remote/more comfortable doing that.
The job market is hot right now, if your book shows potential and you make a decent impression, you should be gold.
People get demoted? 😳
Thanks SVP. At the time (summer 2020) I did have to take the demotion to survive. But you saying that is a comfort because it was a massive act of sh*t eating to stay after that. And 60% of me wishes I had just quit. I got a much better job at a better shop on a better account. I won in the end. But, again, thank you for saying that. Takes some salt out of the wound.
