Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

Ha. Have cards with my maden name I still use 30 yrs later. Just put my full name in my drivers license, but really when was the last time anyone asked for your ID when you used a CC. Ditto for utilities ( they were and are in my name). Lots of other meaningless accounts, never bothered.Lotsof thi gs you just hange your name in your profile.
And I didn't change anything until I needed a new passpor, then did it all. Just used his name socially. I mean thats the unified presentation people want
My wife went through and still has been going through this. We got married last summer.
I am sorry to say it is a pain in the butt. The obvious stuff like changing social, drivers license, the big things suck because they take time. But the worst stuff are things you don’t even think about until too late. For example making sure global entry is updated so you have tsa precheck for flights, ensuring whatever accounts are under your name are adjusted, getting your new name added to lease if renting. You also may experience issues if trying to open up any new credit cards shortly after, as it may get immediately thrown into fraud due to last name issues. And trust me that is no fun to deal with.
I would start to make a list now, think of anything that may have your last name on it. And continue to have that list in mind. So when you do go through with changing it, you can get through it in only a few weeks.
You can do it easily in one day if you take the day off and tackle it strategically. I can’t remember the exact order but I did car registration, drivers license, passport, social security card in one day (prob start with SS). Get second copies of your marriage cert the authorized kind not photocopies. Do all the in person stuff first, then tackle bank accounts (we added ea other to our accts same time). Go home then do airlines and credit cards (just want a copy of your marriage license and old drivers license I believe). There are some blog posts about this but check your state specifically.
In my state, you can change your license with other documents, you don’t need your Social Security card
i'm also nervous for this
It’s difficult if you can’t let go of your priorities with the previous name.
