I left mine a card with $20 cash in the mailbox. We don’t interact too often, but we have the same person every day and she’s nice.

How do you know you love her if you never see her? Serious question.
Rising Star
Fair question! We have met her a few times since moving in this year and she is THE SWEETEST but also she just takes a lot of care with our stuff. We haven't replaced our leaky mailbox yet so if she has letters or packages when it's raining she always puts them in a covered area and leaves a note on the door for us to check there. And she has actually made a point of re-distributing any mail that had accidentally been dropped at a neighbor's house to make sure it finds the right place. Just an all-around thoughtful person who makes a point to say hi and check in whenever we do happen to cross paths.
I guess "never" was an exaggeration, but I certainly can't plan to see her at any given time.
We always leave a card with a note of thanks and $50 cash. My husband’s grandfather was a mailman, and he feels very strongly about this. Helps that our mailman is also the absolute nicest! ☺️

You have the same mail lady every time? Feel like I get someone new everyday of the week
If you do, it needs to be under $20 in value (sucks being a quasi-Fed). We’ve given them homemade cookies in the past, not doing that during Covid though.
We’ve lived in small town/counties the last ~15 years and my SO mails a lot doing eBay, so we know our delivery person and the 2-3 that work in the Post Office. I didn’t do anything for them when I lived in apartments with mail banks and I didn’t “know” them.

Our mail lady does MWF and TTh is a rotation of other people. We gave our mail lady a gift card yesterday, but it's easy for us to see when she comes by and run out since the mailbox for our strip of townhouses is right in front of our living room window.
We used to prop up a card clearly marked for our mailman in the box with a gift/money for him. He always got it and put a handwritten note of thanks / well wishes. He would leave hand written notes for everyone in our neighborhood. USPS people like this are incredible.

Yup leave it in the box

Our postal service has gone so far downhill over past few years, and is different people. No gift from us (but then, we have never given a gift for this, didn’t even know it was a thing?)
