This is toooooooo funny
I think of executive presence as less about walking around (let's face it, how many times do you REALLY present that way?) and more on word choice, command of room, tone inflection, ability to distill the complex into simple statements/anecdotes to get point across, listening and how you make others feel in the meeting, etc. It's about showing that you belong in the room and are the expert (without having to prove you are smartest in the room) and giving your superiors (and clients) confidence that you can be in charge and get things done without screwing things up.
I would add that wardrobe helps! My CEO is always smartly dressed! I don't think her clothes are super DUPER expensive, but some well-fitting and stylish dresses and blouses make her seem so well put-together! Agree that it has so much to do with confidence, attitude, and speech too!
Physical ability doesn't have anything to do with how well you can inspire people!
Agreed. Walking is not necessary
Starting a BRG to create awareness of your condition is a good start. You'll be surprised when you put something out there how many people share your predicament. They look for leadership too. Be that leader...

I wouldn’t consider someone less of a leader due to a disability. I’d find a new firm / practice area if that’s an issue where you are - sounds toxic if that’s the case (I’m deaf in one ear)
Ok
I also have a disability and had a lot of issues walking in my earlier days. It made me super self conscious and I also struggled with confidence /executive presence. Sometimes i would get to meetings early and be the last to leave so no one saw me walk. then as walking got worse i requested meetings close to our office where i didn’t have to walk as much. I made a lot of progress when I got out of my own head (worrying what others thought), and when i became more open about my needs and the accommodations I needed to be successful in my role. People are (typically) kinder than we think they will be
It does. Thanks for the clarification. Praying that you get some relief.
