This might be a different perspective since my husband and I both work from home. But there are days where one or both of us are extremely frustrated from work. We just try to relax individually for some time and then do an activity we enjoy together.
Like I’d take a warm bath, he’ll play some games. And then we’ll have dinner and watch a movie together or play a board game and talk about our day if we want to.
Hope this helps!
I think one complicating factor is that one of us is remote and the other in person, we don't live together, and our work schedules tend to be opposites.
I'm learning from my own marriage, that you have to be intentional about making time with your partner. There will always be something going on, so if you always use that as an excuse then before you know i weeks or even months will go past since the last time you have had quality time. Quality time is important in a relationship.

Send each other fun/cute texts or notes throughout the day. That way you both can take your partner's mind off of work to smile for even just two minutes. It also keeps the relationship on each others' minds.
Saying no to extra work when you need to, and turning off your work phone when you're off the clock. It's like creating a force field around your personal life, protecting it from the onslaught of work emails and late-night calls.
