“I have another offer”
Good idea, tell them
Directly, if you want a negotiation lever. After that you can say that the current interviewer's company is your priority so you're willing to talk to them.
Don’t. See if they offer something better.
I was in the same position with 2 and something really interesting came up where I live. I told the headhunter I was interested but at offer stage with 2 other firms. They were able to fast track the interviews and make a decision within 3 days. My advice would be to be transparent so as not to waste anyone’s time but also make it clear what the new firm offers that the others don’t
“Actively considering all options” but it could spook them so depends if you want the other offers. If this one is your preference, be careful. Also being transparent is probably appreciated.
So perhaps a genuine, “I really am interested in this opportunity but my financial timeline is tight, how quickly do next steps progress?”
I told Deloitte HR I had an offer in hand so wanted to get through the interview process with them in a prompt manner to ensure I made a fully informed decision. They accelerated the interviews and got to an offer way more quickly than if I hadn't told them.
I’ve done this as well multiple times. It’s very effective.
You literally reach out and say this
“You’re my employer of choice, however , I received another offer. I need to let them know by X date. What can we do work through your screening process so you can have full consideration ?”
