Except it is sadly true. The job market appears to be very tough right now for white collar workers in general. Many companies are shedding jobs like crazy, especially FAANG, which seems to always lead the way on this stuff.
Kinda makes you appreciate an administration that looks to protect American workers. It’s sad that in the last 2 years, my company has shed perhaps thousands of jobs under the guise of DEI to Europe, China and India.
It’s sad the talent that left.
Maybe coincidentally the pay is 1/3 of of Salary in Barcelona and even less in China and India, but maybe just greed.
We can’t stop globalism and DEI quick enough.
I’ve heard of this but not the book title. Maybe it’s a part in some areas but that’s not what’s taking our culture down, at least not in BPD. When your new hires are so green or incompetent they often don’t know enough to “do the right thing” or “be entrepreneurial’” that’s a problem.
I don’t mind being a mentor to junior colleagues but they need to have a baseline knowledge and not fall into a group for virtue signaling.
I guess I got spoiled with the exceptional or at least competent talent in the past when working for big pharma.
Anyways, I’ll do my best “to put patients first” and bring these folks along but it’s a little disheartening to be trying to perform the science at the speed we need for patients and our companies success.
I someone by the grace of whatever — got a job the week of Xmas. The team I was hired on was needed but I live in constant fear of not being able to perform to a certain standard and end up getting canned because there’s so much great talent to choose from given our job market
I assume this is more white collar. I may be blue collar but if anyone said that to me it would be a hr visit right away.
Yes it is technically true that white collar is having a hard time across the board, it isn't something that should be brought up in a way that causes discomfort.
Even if it’s true it’s still being used as a manipulation tactic.
