Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?
Opinions on this brand?

Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

You can certainly ask about vacation time and try to see if you can get more. Sometimes that's off the table because companies will have it in the policy manual as a way to ensure everyone adheres to the same rules. If that's not the case, a potential employee may be willing to offer more than what's standard.
You can negotiate anything. I would ask because the worst they can say is no. If they want you bad enough they will do it.
Yes, vacation is one of the easiest things that can give you. You can also sometimes ask for work from home days if that’s an option.
Not relevant to your situation but for your next negotiation conversation don’t forget about bonus, equity, stock options (also easier to give bc you’re in the same salary band but get more money), education funds, accountant fees if you’re moving over seas, etc.
How are you going to tee up the ask for more vacation?
15 days seems to be the standard (depending on industry). 20 days seems less common though higher level positions like Director and above tend to get more PTO.
Yes you can. I recommend everyone do this in addition to negotiating for higher pay. Two weeks should be no problem. I'd be shooting for at least three.
European here smiling while reading this... Sorry!
Yeah, you guys in the States are outperforming us economically big time and your purchasing power has increased so much.
But hey, I would never be able to live on 15, let alone 0 days of vacation. How is that even possible mentally???
It's not. Have you seen what's going on here? We are NOT ok 😂 I returned to the US 6 years ago after living in the UK and I have regrets. People are incredibly burnt out, and that keeps us docile. It's by design.

you definitely can! I was able to negotiate an extra week by asking -- so it is possible. not something that is as scommon as salary but for me it made a big difference
