Whenever I take it regularly, I build up a tolerance and end up needing to up the dosage. If it isn't working for you anymore, you probably need to do the same.
This. I have def built up a tolerance, but knowing that there is a max daily dosage allowed I make an effort to only take it when I need it and try to take extended breaks (a week or more) from it to help abate the tolerance build-up.
I would always take mine Mon - Fri and cycle off on weekends. Have stopped taking it while I’m pregnant, but that prevented me from increasing my dosage for about a decade.
Adderall dosage is not weight-dependent, interestingly
Secret is to take breaks if you’re not already. I take it ~1 or 2 times a week, 5mg instant release and it still has the desired affect. Back when I was taking my adderall daily it definitely didn’t work as well and I’d need the 10mg dosage
OP I have a similar profile, male 170. I do similar to what mc1 said and take breaks on the weekends and during work vacations. I’m prescribed 10mg twice daily, but usually only take one (maybe do the full dose twice a week). It has kept me from having to increase my dose for 5 years.
I take a break on weekends. Consult your doctor as well. Every patient has a different circumstance.
Honestly it depends on if you need it or not and what your doctor says. I wouldn't increase it unless you have been on the 10's for a while and they stop working or you don't feel like they worked to begin with.
Do you feel like you need more?
I really don’t know. I do not want to keep increasing dosage although they are not hitting like they use to

Most neurological drugs aren’t weight dependent. 10mg is a good starter dose. You might even want to try 5 first and see if that helps then work up if needed

I don’t take my meds on the weekends or when I’m on PTO. It helps it to stay effective.
I’d talk to your doctor about your concerns. I spoke with mine when I was on a lower dose and I took his advice on increasing dosage but skipping days I don’t work. It’s worked really well. Only you and your doctor will know the right path for you here.
