I do not qualify for FMLA - What are the chances of the firm letting me go when I take short term disability? My doctor is scheduling a surgery requiring 8 weeks of recovery. I will not have been with the firm for a year at the time of the surgery, so FMLA (job protection) does not apply to me. I am in constant pain, but I am thinking to wait until I’ve been with the firm for a year to get the surgery. I cannot afford to lose health insurance if they let me go. Thanks for your advice!

Should I rejoin Equinox? Background: I cancelled my equinox membership because I wanted to try out different gyms. After about a month and a half, I’ve determined I really miss Equinox. The hiring manager was very straight forward with me that I was his top candidate and I was told all other interviews were very positive incl CMO. I do sales for a major engineering firm. Focused on new business and exploring new markets. Last year I was in the top 50% for order intake, and first in number of projects won along with number of new customers. I think this is extraordinary given the effort it takes to win new business.
