I don't know when this first happened but I've realized the last couple of years that no healthcare facility I enter as a patient looks impressive or even "nice" anymore. Mount Sinai, MSK, Cornell, these institutions all have outdated and dilapidated facilities. Can't they take something out of the CEO bonus to repaint and spruce once in a while so we can feel respected as patients here?

I will say since I have been in healthcare, I have a very critical eye to everything now. No matter if I am an employee or patient anywhere. It really does hurt to know how much the higher ups' bonuses are when that money should be going into something else at the facility.

Or maybe shared with all staff

Crabbing about how much other people are making isn't helpful. If you want to make more money go do something about it, if you were offered a job for more money you'd take it lol not say oh no no I'll take less so we can use that extra money to paid the lobby and replace the trim and counter tops. LOL there's much bigger problems to healthcare than paying their c suites more than what the front lines people think is appropriate in their very limited view of what is involved in the experience, depth and scope of those roles.

Also I don't know what facilities ya'll have been going to, the ones in my area keep up on their facilities.

I feel like ours is constantly painting something or closing rooms to reseal floors. It's obsessive and intrusive to the actual work but it does keep the hospital looking nice.

Rant: my boyfriend is so annoying with this diet! I GET IT. You want to eat healthy! But when you have your friends at our place every other weekend they order pizza and you devour most of 2 boxes! But when I want pizza or wings or burgers I have to hear a whole spiel. “Can we pick something healthier?” “You can order ___ but can I choose something else on the menu?” “I don’t knowwww” like MY GOD. Then if I order something for me he wants half or bites! Sick of it!!!
