Part of my recovery was saying goodbye to some of my former using associates. It sucked, but drinking and using was pretty much the only thing we had in common anyway. I've let them know that I'm here if they ever decide to consider recovery.

My closest friend and closest drinking buddy and I are getting dinner tomorrow night. It’s my first time going out with him since I started AA. He’s very supportive though and I don’t think I’ll have any issues.
But I have a broader group of friends who go out often and I am basically not part of that group now. I’d already been distanced since I have young kids and my wife is pregnant again, but now I have even fewer reasons to see them.
My personal experience, I kept away from any kind of drinking occasions. In my case, zero choice. Angie
Honestly sometimes that is what you have to do OP in order to have boundaries and do what is best for you. I know it sucks but there are times in our lives where we just outgrow people and it sounds like that is what is happening here.
