I have a final interview coming up at AlixPartners. In many ways it's my dream job. However I am quite new to the consulting world.

What can I expect at a final interview with a Managing Director for a consultant role? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It’s pretty chill. Be prepared to explain your personal value proposition - “how will you immediately add value to the firm”. Otherwise, it’s more about fit and being yourself.

Any insights on what your cases tend to look like?

like

Whether someone does a case or not depends on the role and practice area in which they are recruiting.

Be prepared for all the usual. But also have a story that can relate to the firm’s values and culture. How does “when it really matters” resonate with you?

like

Thank you! I didn't know about "when it really matters".

I can think of a few experiences at my current job and my beliefs that should "resonate". Does that sound right or am I misconstruing the word?

Get ready to travel a lot with them.

Interview questions will definitely start with, "Why did you choose to apply for this job?". Questions will focus on your problem-solving skills, time-management and questions about yourself. But don't think too much. Just be yourself and be confident.

I am seeking new employment, I was recently laid off due to lack of work. I would very much appreciate any leads. I have a Bs in Construction Management and over 15 years experience with Revit and AutoCAD and 7 years of plumbing design. I have solid references and impeccable work ethic. I truly enjoy what I do. Working remotely the last three years has become a way of my life and supports our current situation well, therefore I am seeking a similar role but will consider other opportunities.

My convo with the HR recruiter was that he would push for $130k plus a sign on bonus. Offer is coming back at $125k with no bonus. Exiting my current position I'll be leaving a 3% pay increase, $12k bonus payout next month and full remote work on the table. Those considered it would be a lateral financial move for the 2023 year.

Amex people thoughts on this offer, as I have recently(4 months back) joined a startup with Base(33) and CTC(35.5) but not enjoying the work here. Amex brand tag and culture is good.

Hence, considering the offer, does this offer look good or is there any scope of improvement? Amex American Express

Seven senior consultants arrive in a sack
Eight associates sneak in the back
Nine analysts come to work
ALL THE CONSULTANTS GO BERSERK!!!

Ok, I'll show myself out now... 😂
