A bit extreme, still relatable

Who is hiring?
Hi Fishes, I grabbed an offer at Accenture with 12 LPA fixed for Level 9. I'm not getting a retention offer from my current company at 13.5 lpa. How do I go about a counter offer with Accenture HR? Also tell me how to approach this situation smoothly.
If HR doesn't fulfill the counter offer, is it ok to accept 12 lpa fixed for Level 9 and when will I get a hike here and how much would it be approximately?
Accenture Please provide your insights. This is my first switch so I ne more exposure

It’s not where it starts that’s impacts your life, it’s where the road takes you - in my experience. I’m also an alcoholic and I have 16 months sober. I’m sure I could drink like a normal person for a month, maybe two but it doesn’t stay that way for long. Then those same behaviors and actions that hurt my life come creeping back and I end up where? Right where I started before getting help.
You didn’t come this far just to come this far, you know?
I am in recovery. 1 year and a few months sober. What helped me was joining AA. I met the most amazing humans in the program that have been so supportive, and what I love about it is that the 12×12 works.
All of the above + I suggest you stop weed, forgive yourself and refocus on the program. I noted my experience here on another thread in case this is helpful: https://joinfishbowl.com/comment_bi1qczjdhk
It’s not the same as alcohol, not even in the same league, at least in my mind, and I have a sample size larger than I’d like to admit. 2.5 years today without alcohol, and I still do enjoy some smoke. Alcohol ruined me to the point of near death. This is weed. Just be careful. Draw a hard line. Stay clear of the alcohol! Heck, even a sugar addiction is so much worse than some weed. Just my own journey, but wanted to share.
My #1 tip and recommendation is to get yourself to a room of AA as soon as you can. It sounds like you're trying to do it all on your own and unfortunately, that's a rough road ahead my friend. Go get help, find a community, and get honest with people. Watch your life change. You're gonna do great! Just get to a room.

I suggest that you really dig into what was lacking in your peogram/sobriety to the point that you felt the need to smoke.
Try to forget about the time reset. Any negative emotion there is purely your ego relishing in onenpf our favorite past times, self pity. I assure you that nobody is judging you, nor were you going to get some sort of extra credit at a year.
We all have just today.
If you are not already and can afford it s therapist would be great they help you work through trauma and give you someone with an education on why our brains work they way they do and why you felt the need to smoke and why now you are not feeling motivated. We can do this with friends but sometimes it's easier to do it with someone who isn't in your day to day life.
I definitely agree with this. I always recommend therapy to everyone because I truly think that every single person can benefit from it in some way. The best investment you will ever make is in nyourself and therapy is definitely a great investment.
Don’t beat yourself up over it. Sounds like you are doing really well in comparison with a lot of people. Someone I know just got fired for missing (another) work day because he was drunk and high. He’s broke and addicted, it is very sad.
And join AA asap as others suggested
It’s called switching seats on the Titanic for a reason.
"Slick' aka the disease of addiction will tell you anything to get you to take a drink or pick up the pipe. Instead pick up the phone call your sponsor or a group member to help you thru that moment. Move a muscle change a thought
