I have been having chest tightest during work hours. Monday - Thursday 11am -6 and sometimes on Friday. I was freaking out that I was having a heart attack but it seems like anxiety. It’s not one thing but just the stack up of all the work. Has anyone else experienced this? Any techniques to deal with it? I had to walk away for a few hours today.

Breathing exercises focusing only on breathing. Go outside and focus on what you see (identify 10 objects, 10 things in nature, etc). Anxiety is living in the past and/ or future. Ground yourself in the present. And if this continues, consider seeing a doctor. Some of your anxiety can also be a chemical imbalance and there’s medication for that. Good luck! Hang in there! This too shall pass.

Once you have had this checked out medically there are many techniques you can use. As you can imagine it’s not a good idea to ignore this. It sounds like a nervous system reaction. Feel free to DM me for some tailored advice.

USI folks - Do you know if the Sum assured of the health insurance offered by Deloitte is for per year or total. There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.
