I have my 401k with fidelity. Can I change the allocation to snowflake computing once it IPOs?

When is the IPO?

Most fidelity 401k plans offer something called brokeragelink. That will setup a new self directed account you can transfer money to and trade like most Ira's. There are probably some restrictions, I have never used it before. I would set it up in advance so it's ready and you fully understand your capabilities, restrictions, and fees with your plan.

Just remember tech is hot and companies want to capitalize on that. And by the time IPO comes to retail folks it's no longer IPO, not saying you can't make money, just saying wall street will always win.

I was thinking the same, snowflake and airbnb look like two good new ones to dump some of my profits into.

Totally agree with your sentiment. I’m long on a bunch of cloud stocks and with Snowflakes strong numbers, it seems silly to let short term fluctuations get in the way of long term results 🙃

I’m maxing out my 401K, traditional IRA and HSA this year and paying for some house improvements. I have about $750K total investments and very close to $2M net worth, but realize that I am behind on investments if I want to do FIRE. I was focused on paying off huge chunks of my mortgage and managed to whittle it down to $75K left. Would you suggest I go ahead and pay that off this year? Or pause and do a mega back door roth instead? I’m mid 40s. Thanks!
