I keep getting passed over for promotions. I've tried to talk to my manager to get specific feedback, but all I've gotten is generic comments. "You were close... next year for sure." Should I just move on to a different company? Not sure how to handle this

If you start as a Program Manager, how/when do you begin to advise people as a people lead? I’ve heard Program Managers are not people leads. I’ve done 18 months of internal sustainability work such as building our sustainability practice, initiatives to get B CORP, SBTI, tracked carbon emissions, company campaigns for sustainability awareness, sustainability strategy. I want to move into a sustainability consulting role. Which area of sustainability consulting should I look at? Are there any courses or certifications I should do?

For those in government, is it difficult to land a position without a CPA? Currently have 3 years in PA, tax senior, Enrolled agent & MST and looking to leave PA next year. The Tax analyst role in IRS’ LB&A is interesting to me. What skills/certifications do they value in those positions in their hiring process?

Interested in joining the Reserves, but I’m guessing that’s way too much with a consulting career? No ROTC or previous military experience so I’d have to go through OCS/OTS as well.

Do you count internships towards your years of experience? I did 20 months all together interning but not sure if that moves my needle from mid to senior when job hunting.
