Well, it depends on what you want to do. Both things are different. What skills do you have and how do you think those could apply to social media as a whole? Also, what work experience do you have?
Getting into social media management or community management would be a great decision! Both of these fields are growing rapidly and offer many opportunities for career advancement. Basically every business needs an online presence and brand, so work possibilities are endless.
Do you have strong communication and organizational skills? If you do, you would be a perfect fit for either of these careers! You don't need to learn much, just how to be organized and how to stay on top of things.
If you feel like this is the job you'd like, that's great, but keep in mind that being a community manager, especially, is very straining as work is basically 24/7. If that sounds good to you, then go ahead!
As more and more businesses are using social media to reach their customers, there is a growing demand for social media managers, so of course, I would recommend you to get into it, but only if you like it. If you don't like it you will have a pretty rough time, as a good part of our job is quite repetitive
