I really like the company I work for, so I don't want to take the path of looking for another place to work in just to get a promotion. How have you all leveraged your situation in your workplace to go up the ladder? Has a conversation with HR helped more or with your direct supervisors?

I've been working at my company just over a year and am still waiting on my 1 year review where a raise was to be discussed (other EA got raise at 1 year review and most raises happen at yearly reviews). However, company have just changed their policy to only review salaries in Jan (change came in after my year mark). I'm having a lot of trouble pinning my manager down for my annual review to even discuss my performance, let alone the raise. Feeling the undervalued (and now underpaid):

For a top Producer of 3 years, is it appropriate to now ask for a raise in my base pay? Base was 42,500 when I started, but now inflation + 2 children later the base pay barely gets me by. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Would you take a freelance gig that would be a promotion (with potential to join full time) with a smaller company whose values you really agree with, OR a full-time offer for a lateral move with a larger company with teammates you know and trust? Of course factoring in all the nuances of covid. TIA!

My employer is going on a hiring blitz and is offering new hires of the same position a higher salary than I currently have, is this normal or should I demand a raise?

What’s a fair expectation for my first raise? Publicly traded co with ~2500 employees. I’ve been doing litigation with the company for almost 3 yrs and have only had a 2% cost of living raise so far. Need some feedback! So I was forced to move jobs about 6 months ago due to reorg and the new leader opting to bring their existing EA with them, without even meeting me. My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I had a job interview for a role that I really want. The hiring manager scheduled me for an interview and did not show up. Emailed me an hour later stating that he got super busy and couldn’t attend, and would like to reschedule. This is a major red flag, but I can’t help but feel that I am missing out since this role pays 50% over what I currently make. Should I let the recruiter know? What’s your take on this?
