How do you get more dopamine?
One of my favorite podcasts did an episode on Adderall. Most of the info won’t be new, but there were some interesting snippets in there. I also thought it was a useful educational resource to share with your family and friends.

Try modafinil working a lot better than addy or Vyvanse for me.

TBH I use caffeine? I read a study that looked at regular use of a caffeine dose throughout the day. So I would have a double espresso every four hours up until 4pm. If I was worried I wouldn’t sleep I’d try and make that last one decaf.
Alcohol is a tricky one. For me not sure what it gives you of any benefit.
Thanks for the comment!
I have 3 coffees a day but it doesn’t help me to be productive, just more alert. The adderall at least meant I was productive, but had other drawbacks as mentioned
Regarding the alcohol, I just enjoy it when with friends so I don’t want to give that up.
I live on caffeine and exercise. Get outside at least for a 30 minute walk at least once a day, Pilates almost every day, lift weights or do some kind of exercise throughout the day especially when scrolling or watching shows. Addrerall was great in some ways but it makes me a bit uneasy after a few weeks.
I feel that and can sympathise. I’m pushing a year with this client and mental health has been the worst it ever has as a result. I’m seeing a therapist which is helping but the client work is still there everyday. I guess this original post is because I feel like I might need the adderall again to be able to push through, but I don’t really want to take it again

You said you don’t want to cut back on drinking, but that statement tells us you should cut back on drinking. it’s so so toxic and a depressant.
Have you tried cannabis instead? The studies are mixed but a lot of people use it to quiet the mind enough to focus and it doesn’t have the same depressant effect
I personally find functional mushrooms have helped calm me but doesn’t help my mental focus.

I drink once or twice a week in moderation with friends, and I only mention it because many of the non-stimulant options say you shouldn’t drink even a drop due to risk of seizures. I’m still in my 20s for context so I don’t want to give that up right now.
I haven’t tried cannabis for adhd no, but I’m UK based so it’s not legal here. I considered CBD oil but it can be pricy and there are mixed reviews for helping with concentration
