I have a brand new person on my team- she is totally new to the field, has recently returned to the workforce (solo mom of 3 teens), is very smart. I knew when I hired her that I’d have to lean in to get her to where she needed to be. She has a ton of potential but lacks experience in a professional setting. I need to help her level up her written communication skills. Any suggestions on books, resources, strategies? She is learning by doing and takes feedback but I want more supports for her.

Any great podcasts or books you would recommend? Specifically on leadership/business communication skills/ being a part of the “boys club” or better yet- breaking up the boys club!

I have this weird huge anxiety around sending out emails to my BU. Personally, it’s because I’ve received feedback that I’m not concise or clear in my written communication. I’m trying to be patient and gracious with myself, & have been reading books to improve my vernacular. I also send my email drafts to my manager first, & she’s been supportive and improving them for me. Which is great! But I feel a tad embarrassed. Any tips on how to regulate that feeling, & improve written comm?

I get referred in July and two weeks later I’m told I’d get an interview, I wait almost two months and then reach out to the partner because I was really interested in the role, and finally set up an interview. It takes a month to schedule the phone screen and then I have the final rounds. I follow up because I have an outside offer and I get no response. Recruiters repeatedly missed interviews, and then random team members joined the interview
