I was hired for full-time, worked just under a month and am now off the schedule-still employeed there. In effort to save money, the company is avoiding the responsibility to pay health insurance to full time staff. Others are resigning for same reasons. Is this legal? Why hire fte?

You can apply for unemployment.... underemployment is able to apply for it since COVID. If your contracted hours aren't being honored apply.

Your employer doesn't pay the entire cost of your health insurance, if you aren't being paid because you aren't working you would need to pay your portion of the cost toward the insurance for it to remain active, they would need to continue paying their portion of your are paying yours

Paramedic1 they asked a question and I answered it.

I'm not sure what the point is in your comment as it offers nothing of value

Employers do not have to continue paying their portion of your benefits if you are not it's just fact..so while I know it is shady on the employers part the best way to move forward at a minimum is trying for unemployment based on being under-employed.

I'm sorry and I hope they are forced to fix this!

Hmm if they are supposed to be paying for that then I would think they woudln't be able to get away with this. I am not sure who you can talk to about that but I might contact an employment attorney and see what they have to say about it.

I recently had an initial interview for a technical recruiter position. The guy on the phone stated that this is not a 9-5 job and long hours are expected. From that conversation, I saw instant red flags. Any thoughts?

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?
