If a new job is not the right fit is it better to try to leave after 1-3 months or try to stick it out 4-6 months?

Just start applying. If the next job doesn’t care, you shouldn’t either.

If its your only stint shorter than a year, ripoff the bandaid and find something else. A bad recession can turn a 6 month stint into a 3 year stint...

But if you're constantly job hopping, then it might raise questions to a hiring manager.

like

There’s not really much of a difference between those timeframes anyway but life’s too short to work somewhere that’s not a good fit just for the resume. During the pandemic I took a job somewhere that turned out to be a bad fit and I started applying after 6 weeks. I got something new and resigned after 4 months.

In the same boat. I'd rather leave sooner than later.

like

What does bad fit mean?

Bad direct manager, most likely

Considering a move to NTT Data in a healthcare consulting role. Mixed reviews in the bowls. Major concerns are bench policy, staff aug roles, 2 week PTO, and high turnover due to job dissatisfaction. Recruiter and mgr had great things to say around growth and opportunity, which doesn’t align with feedback from the bowls or Glassdoor.
Understanding things have changed there in the last few months, I need un-biased advice from fellow fish who have recently joined or can speak to recent changes
