Hi guys,
Need help,I am joining VMware Banglore on 27th June. During interview I told them I need wfh. They said it wil be wfh this entire year. Only mistake I did was i didn't permanent wfh. I took for granted like once I join i can opt for it ( as my VMware friends had said we can opt for it)
Now the offices have started, I am scared if they call me to office , I have 14months son, not willing to leave him n go for office.
So if I ask manager to give me permanent wfh will they agree ?

And I want to clarify, that they will adjust your salary not because they are greedy bastards, but because of internal fairness
Agree but some companies still may require you to be in a region. Even my pre covid 100% remote job I have to be in office sometimes.

Potentially, but your salary will most probably be adjusted to your tax area. However, it’s not necessarily a bad thing if your net VS cost of living will improve
Agree with VP HR 1. They won’t let you pull and SF adjusted pay, and live in TX or a low COL state.
I’m hoping we can push for an office optional model, as it would mean lower rent, better lifestyle, and a lot less stress with increased productivity - not to mention the positive climate impact!
If you work remotely where you are doesn't matter. The only thing to consider is time zone changes.
