Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Try boutique firms to get your foot in the door.
You could start at one of the ACs where the barrier to entry is lower; however, as someone who works at one I’m not sure I’d recommend that path. I’m currently trying to pivot after a year but I’ve found the consulting experience was valuable
Extremely low pay and crapshoot on the kind of work you do. I got extremely lucky and got staffed on a really good long term engagement where I got client facing experience and other experience well outside my role. Other people don’t have that same experience
Cont: interviews lined up, all earned via aggressive networking, but it’s all fallen through since then. I come from a non-target school and haven’t even had much luck otherwise. How do I use this time to become a better candidate? What should I do? I’m feeling quite hopeless and lost and would love any advice or have a candid conversation on what I should do to be making strides towards building a career in consulting. I worked as a Project Assistant with consultants at a healthcare consulting firm, and that’s as much connection I have with consulting.
I’d recommend polishing your foundational consulting skills and looking for ways you can gain experience that relates to consulting. It sucks but you’ll have to get creative to stand out.
Things like doing some pro-bono consulting work for some local businesses, or get certified in digital transformation related fields, etc.
That’s a whole different topic of discussion on itself. I think you can find people on both sides of the camp.
I’d take some time and research that portion to see if that’s an avenue that works for you given your scenario. It’s difficult for someone to tell you what’s best given the different variables that feed into this decision.
