Hi Fishes,
I resigned from TCS in August and in another 18 days it's my LWD with TCS, now i got call from my lead saying they will provide canada onsite opportunity and he said he has multiple projects at onsite which he can give me, some are saying it's just a gimmick to retain you nothing else, my DM asked me to say yes or no by tomorrow so that he can start the process he said once i get approval mail then only i can take back my resignation. Do you think i can believe my DM? Tata Consultancy Infosys

There are so many people looking for remote roles, you are lucky to have one!

Same boat. I agree that if I met/saw my colleagues once a year, it wouldn’t be the worst thing, but it definitely beats commuting to see them most days. This is the new normal (for some of us).
Seriously why are you complaining? You really want to go sit in conference rooms for your work hours? Then people find out you are on location and blitz your calendar will wall to wall meetings. No thank you.
I’m sure you could volunteer to be in the office 5 days/week
I've worked at my company for close to a decade. Been to HQ once, met my manager in person once.
I guess I’m not sure what you’re venting about or what the problem is. You’re not at a professional or social disadvantage. I’m fully remote but have colleagues who work/sit in HQ. But when people are in the office everyone is so busy working and in meetings it’s as if there’s time to just chat around the water cooler. There are usually 1-2 events a year where everyone is encouraged to come to the office but, not required. During these events we do get to meet new colleagues, see old ones, and have lunch and chat. So it’s a fine social experience. If you just want to see people in the flesh then perhaps wait until there’s an activity (or plan a CLE/Lunch n learn). Or just plan a visit. But I don’t know what this solves other than desire or curiosity. I feel like remote workers are kinda living the dream right now.
