Interesting they gave a low salary
So I don't understand why anyone ever answers the "what is your current salary?" question. Instead just tell them what you need to move positions.
Next, I doubt this is even real because asking for salary has been illegal since 2017 for California employers. Salesforce recruiters wouldn't be asking that question.
I wish the recruiter knew it’s illegal and I wish I knew too 🙂
If you are “worth more than that” go get an offer for what you’re worth. It’s pretty simple. If you can’t, that should tell you something too. I also gave my current salary when I interviewed at Salesforce ($240), got an offer for $325, and negotiated it up to $350.
What did your say to get from $325 to $350. I'm about to negotiate and need some practice.
Post your offer and current comp or don't post at all
So what was the offer? You can atleast put that.
Yeah I had the same experience, they simply matched my current salary and didn’t offer more. If you come from consulting, they give an excuse we do not pay as high as consulting firms.
What is the role/title offered?
They reached out to me about success manager role last winter. They offered less than I earn and on top of that no grad school...
What was the offer? What level position?
Cool story only missing all the key details...BAs have multiple levels - associate, BA, Sr BA, Director- you probably didnt meet the right level. We beat big 4 comp all the time be sure and consider that Salesforce bonus is near guaranteed and we have RSUs.
At least for sales, Salesforce is 25-30% lower than MSFT, AWS, Oracle. I think this year we may see higher attrition as the culture is shifting.
Thanks SF5. That’s a good perspective from a program architect. It’s a bit of a different experience on the sales side. It’s not a bad place to be. You have to find what you can give to salesforce and what you can get. I’ve just seen the culture change quite a bit in sales.
Any tips on how to even get an interview? Please help
Message me, I can refer
They are not supposed to ask you what you make and it's actually illegal in some states
What role is that?
Business architect
What was the offer and role?
Was it for a principal business architect?
If you were a Manager at Deloitte, you should probably be aiming for Senior Principal Business Architect (L8). If you came into Deloitte with MBA, might struggle to improve on that salary as I don’t think MBA has some influence on salary at Salesforce.
