That’s tough. You will be fine but she’s holding a super spreader event intentionally. I wouldn’t go.
Love how EY2 and EY4 both flip this on it’s head making the OP the bad person and not being a true friend. That is right out of the playbook for one side of this argument.
It is sad that there are so many people out there who think like this.
Love the comments to end friendship based on the vaccination status.
Lol the vaccine doesnt stop the spread of covid, and these people want to target them for bad values. Lololololol. I would be happy to end my relationship with anyone forcing a vaccine- your IQ levels would be too low for me.
It’s a verbal conversation but it’s a hard no if you have anyone you love that you’d rather not give the plague to.
Simple question: If you’re vaxxed, why does it matter?
My wife and I were in a similar situation in late July and decided to not attend. My wife is pregnant and we didn’t feel it was worth the risk. Make a decision you are comfortable with and don’t look back. I will say though, be prepared for that friendship to never be the same. We have essentially lost the friendship due to not attending the wedding even though we approached them weeks in advance.
I would not attend. I’m sure that being down one attendant won’t stop the wedding.
Putting safety and common sense aside for a moment - this is going to be a lame wedding if the values of the guests reflect those of the hosts. You’ve got better things to do on your weekend.
I’d pull out of the wedding and the friendship 😵💫

If it's far enough in advance of the wedding you should be able to make your concerns known to the bride and then drop it from that point. After that just go regardless or end the friendship. But is it worth ending the friendship over something you have no control over that doesn't impact your health since you are vaccinated after all?
Yeah but OP not going isn't going to change anything. Some lifelong relationships run a little deeper than being destroyed by disagreements like this. No matter how right OP is.
Pull out for sure
Pretend you get sick one day before the wedding lol
My bff is going to her cousins wedding tomorrow. Theyre all vaccinated except for her cousins two kids (who are under 9).
Her cousin got COVID 9 days ago despite the vaccination.... Theyre not rescheduling nor placing any other precautions on it...
My friends planning on sitting in the very back and being essentially antisocial just in case...
Let me make sure I understand .. the bride tested positive for COVID and because she is vaccinated is still holding a no-mask wedding to spread her COVID to other vaccinated relatives?
Agree with SC3.
Yup
I am open to hearing why anyone who would have the option would not get vaccinated? I don't get it but I am simply trying to understand. Maybe this crowd could listen and dispel these arguments?

Wear a mask
Yeah, don’t go.

Pro
You really don’t seem to get it KPMG5.
Just tell them you tested positive for covid but have no major symptoms so you should still be able to make it. Watch how quick the conversation turns 😂😂
Ok seriously, help me understand the reasoning of people who don't wear masks and refuse vaccines? How do they fight off Covid? And if they do not do anything to prevent it, why would they be worried about interacting with someone infected by it? Covid is not a serious issue right?
Absolutely
This sounds like the perfect scenario to test the efficacy of your vaccine. What a nightmare. You might as well sign up for the UK studies where they blow different concentrations of covid up your nose.
