I have rolled everything over the vanguard. Easy to have it all in one place and I like their ETFs
Awesome - I’m doing it now.
Silly question but is it a weird time to move money around? I lost $ with the current market changes - but it’s going to transfer anyway and do the same thing on Vanguard?
Here’s some context. (Beginner - newish to the US)
- I have some 401k money saved on Vanguard from my previous employer
- My current employer’s 401k plan is on a different account (Guideline), and I plan to stay there for long
- I had opened at Betterment account in between both jobs and have money there too.
- I’ve started using RobinHood and wonder if I should continue (for index funds)
Here are my questions:
1. Should I rollover my Vanguard 401k to Guideline?
2. And then, should I move my Betterment funds to Vanguard? (I want to keep my accounts streamlined - I’m ready to settle for Vanguard’s UI since there are no fees)
3. If I do so, am I losing money to move funds around? And, is this the wrong time to move funds or there’s no difference?
4. To invest in index funds: Should I use RobinHood or Vanguard?
Thank you!
