Family law is TERRIBLE for having clients that have bad attitudes and a problem paying lawyers. I’ve been doing it for 27 years and I have had to learn to set boundaries and require BIG initial retainers. And - I will fire clients that step outside of the boundaries I set now. It takes a LOT of of abuse before you finally begin to understand the importance of setting boundaries with clients.
Thank you! I appreciate your response! Yeah, I’m slowly getting there with realizing clients that I need to fire the clients who are verbally abusive, combative, etc.
Fire them.
One of my reasons for transitioning away from as many family cases is this... Client management, no boundaries, lots of stress with clients ready to turn around on you and also don't want to pay you!
Oh believe me, I have! It’s just such bs that we can’t respond back to their disgusting attitude
